Patient case: MIS fusion

“Being a surgical nurse, you can imagine she must have been in great pain to sign up for a surgery herself.”
A middle-aged OR nurse was having low-back pain and radicular pain in the left leg (L5). She went through a well-planned conservative treatment, but was still having trouble and her work capacity was diminished.
Adjunct. Prof. Janek Frantzén at Turku University Hospital decided to do a L5/S1 minimally invasive fusion using Bonalive® putty MIS. The clinical outcome was excellent, and the nurse could return to work after 3.5 month.
